Meet Our Founder

Born in St. Martin, Virgin Islands and raised in Asbury Park, Ismael Anevil is a resilient leader whose life is a testimony of faith, perseverance, and purpose. An immigrant who once sought belonging in the streets, he overcame gun violence, cancer, addiction, and broken relationships — all while anchored in his unwavering faith in God.

With over 20 years of customer service and community involvement, Ismael brings seasoned leadership and a people-first mindset to God’z Work. His journey fuels his passion for mentoring youth who walk the same path he once did — offering brotherhood, healing, and purpose.

Grounded in his love for family, food, and faith, Ismael draws strength from the women who raised him and the church that shaped him.

As Executive Director, he envisions God’z Work becoming a global movement — building spaces of recovery, identity, and transformation for the next generation.

Dancing Hands

Transforming Lives Together

At God'z Work, our mission is to empower men and teens from underprivileged communities through leadership, emotional wellness, and generational change. Join us in making a difference.

Our Journey

Rooted in community. Driven by purpose

God’z Work was founded with a vision to meet young men in Monmouth County where they are — emotionally, spiritually, and socially. Born from lived experience and deep community insight, our mission is to address the struggles often left in the shadows: identity, addiction, mental health, and the absence of true brotherhood.

We offer emotional support, leadership training, and real mentorship — not just programs, but purpose-driven relationships. Every initiative we build is tailored to the unique needs of our youth, shaped through collaboration with local leaders, and grounded in our belief that change starts from within.

Our commitment is to create a space that cultivates healing, responsibility, and growth — where every young man can rise, rebuild, and walk in their greatness.

All in the dayz of God’z Work.
